DAY II: EU QUESTIONS - CONSOLIDATING THE KNOWLEDGE ON YOUR COUNTRY'S PROFILE
Answer the following questions in your country group (the questions will be provided on the day)
DAY II: LOBBYING EXERCISE
Lobbying is the process whereby individuals seek to influence others by powers of persuasion and presentation of information. Lobbyists also can act as a bridge between policy makers and wider civil society. They ensure that politicians and civil servants are aware of the needs, desires and interests of particular groups of people or organisations.
This exercise is designed to help you practise your lobbying skills. You will be given a statement, which you must decide how your country would vote, either for, against or abstain. Your task is to persuade other countries to vote the same way as you. But others will also be trying to encourage you to vote in a different way. You should also listen to their arguments and decide what is best for your country - you may change your mind! It is important that you think how your country would vote, not you personally. You need to think about the country, where it is situated in Europe, its economy, business interests and aspects of culture when deciding on your opinion.
On the day your country will be provided with a statement to lobby for or against. Your task will be to find other countries, which will support your position
