TASK I: RESEARCH YOUR COUNTRY PROFILE
In order to participate effectively in the Mock European Parliament you must research the following issues in relation to your country (we also recommend that you visit www.cewcni.org.uk , the website which will help you researching your country and the issues below and look at the list of resources and websites in your bookltes on pages 8-9).
When did your country join the EU?
Where is your country on the map and who are its neighbours?
Which countries are powerful in the region?
What size is the population?
Is the country a More Economically Developed Country (MEDC - richer) or a Less Economically Developed Country (LEDC - poorer)?
Does your country suffer from poverty?
What is your country best known for?
From your research, what do you think are the three most urgent concerns & issues in your country?
Are there any famous people & inventions from your country?
Find some information on the attitude of your country to the European Union, the EU Constitution, Development Aid and Human Rights.

TASK II: CHOOSE THE MOTION YOUR SCHOOL & ALLIED BLOCK OF COUNTRIES WANTS TO PROPOSE OR OPPOSE
To complete this task you must click here and select a motion you wish to debate for or against. Subsequently revise the debating procedures and prepare the speeches for your debate. Remember that you are proposing or opposing the motion from the point of view of the country & allied block you represent in the Parliament
