12.00 - 12.20 | Practice Debate in the Senate Chamber | Resource: The equipment and environment in the Senate Chamber, Debating Procedures Skills: Effective communication and receptive skills Aims: Students will familiarise themselves with the electronic equipment and the surrounding of the Senate Chamber in order to feel more comfortable at the real debate following subsequently. They will also reinforce the debating procedures.

12.20 - 1.30 | Plenary Debate on effective school drugs policy Chair Jane Morrice (Women's Coalition) | Resource: Seven motions Skills: Effective communication, problem solving, giving feedback, debating skills Aims: In the Senate Chamber students will have a debate. They will address seven motions in relation to the improved school drug policy. Formal debating procedures applied at debate in the Northern Ireland Assembly will be used during this debate.
