British Red Cross was organising a conference 'Humanity in Focus' in London on 23rd March 04. CEWC NI was invited to organise a simulated Model UN General Assembly during one of the workshop sessions. The Model UN organised by Piotr involving 20 students and teachers from across the UK was the quickest he has ever done in his career. It lasted only one hour but it was good fun enjoyed by every participant.
The theme for the debate during the Model UN plenary session was 'Child Labour'.
The Model UN General Assembly in London debated and voted on the following child labour - related motions
Motion 1: the government should fine parents who make their children work
For 0 Against 8 Abstain 2
Motion 2: it should be unlawful to employ children under 16 in the whole world.
For 0 Against 10 Abstain 0
Motion 3: children in the developing world countries should be allowed to work to support their families.

If some of the participants would like to add more comments to either the Tuesday's debate or the workshop please send CEWC NI an email.
